The forest has an autumn feel. The blueerries have shriveled, the heather is colouring and the shrubs are also showing their autumn colours. The drought has eaten up all of their reserves and energy. They are already going into preparation for winter.
Last night I heard a large animal behind my tent. I think it was a deer, there are so many here, but I hesitated in opening my tent, afraid I would scare it away. It was so loud in the silence of the night, I heard the breaking of branches and the cracking of leafs from the trees. He gave me the impression of a huge hunger that can only be satisfied by big movements. What is from the earth needs earthly satisfaction. Sometimes quietly, sometimes with a wild tearing and cracking.
